letter from the founder
why switchwaters exists
there's a strange moment we feel right after the college.
the structure disappears. the guidance stops. and suddenly nobody tells you where to go anymore.
you realize the degree was not the destination, landing that first internship was not the plan, and the “career ladder” was mostly a story repeated so often that everyone accepted it as truth.
i learnt this the hard way.
i couldn't complete engineering. at that point in life, it felt humiliating, not because i lacked effort, but because i lacked direction.
and nobody really prepares you for that feeling.
schools prepare people to pass. corporates prepare people to produce. they trust you after a degree is because you have a degree that proves your stability at one place. job platforms prepare people to apply.
but very few systems help people understand:
- who they are
- how they work
- where they belong
- how to move through uncertainty
eventually i realized people are not failing because they are incapable.
they are failing because they are navigating ecosystems they were never taught to understand.
that became the beginning of switchwaters.
not as another social network. not as another hiring funnel. not as another freelance bidding marketplace.
but as a habitat. where people do what they do best. fend for themselves.
a place where opportunities move like currents, industries like jungles, prey and predators together. where hidden paths matter, and people more than resumes.
this platform is for people in motion: freelancers, operators, creatives, founders, specialists, explorers, builders, and teams trying to find aligned work in changing waters.
switchwaters is being built openly, honestly, and continuously with the people using it.
if you share the same vision, welcome to the switchwaters habitat.
